Unable to download latest version of FTP [message #1123]

During the past week, whenever I launch FTP I get a message saying that a new version (7.0.4b2) is available and asking me whether I would like to download it (apparently I have 7.0.4b2 build 2557). But when I click to download it, the download stops soon after starting, and I end up being unable to download it. Why is this happening? (I am running the latest version of Catalina.)

This could happen if the download fails for any reason, or if our download server is temporarily down; trying again later should work. Alternatively, you can download and install manually from our download page.
Version 7.0.4 final is now released.

Hello,

I suggest that you delete your application and replace it with a fresh installation of version 7.0.4 final version as available from our website.

I have repeatedly tried downloading version 7.0.4 from the website, but every time the download terminates partway through. I am using the latest versions of Catalina and Safari.

Hello,

Not sure why this happened to you, but I've seen it once on cellular connections.

So we added a backup site option on our download page, which should work around download issues if needed.

Thank you. I am not using a cellular network, but I was finally able to download it from the backup download site.
