The ePub plugin mention on FT faq page did not work for on M1 Monterey. I did not try the Murasaki app so can't comment on that.

However, I found a free solution that work properly. It does allow FT to index all texts of ePub files so they become searchable.

scroll down and check the readme, then follow the steps of installing the Spotlight and Quick Look plugins.
