Maybe you have toggled the display type to "Quick Look preview", instead of "FoxTrot preview", in the toolbar popup menu? This Quick Look preview supports both legacy Quick Look plugins and modern Quick Look extensions, but without the benefit of highlighting the found words. The FoxTrot preview only supports legacy Quick Look plugins.
