I keep many many documents, mostly MS Word, on iCloud that I use in my consulting business. My index used to be over 10 GB, which seemed about right for the 400 GB I have on the server. I also have a mirror of the iCloud drive on a local SSD. I have also used FoxTrot to index that.

When I search, I should (in theory) get the same result from both indexes. Instead, the iCloud index is a very small subset of what is on the local drive. Discarding and rebuilding my main index resulted in an index that is under 1GB and results that are even worse than the previous iteration.

For a sanity check, I just did a search for a common term. The iCloud index yielded 161 results; the local index yielded 4635 results. I have even tried ticking the "Store copy of ducments for viewing on iOS" to try to force a full index. The problem continues.

FoxTrot has Full Disk Access.

Did you mange to resolve this issue?  My first guess is that not all your iCloud files are downloaded and saved locally.  Other that, maybe your indexing rule for that index excluded certain file types.  I hope your problem has been resolved.
