When using Foxtrot Personal version 4, whenever I changed all the files in
the indexed folders, I used the menu item "rebuild index" and it always
worked fine. Now, with version 5, rebuild index destroys the previous index
but then doesn't reindex anything at all. I get a message saying "are you
sure" and "this may take a while" and then the window disappears and when
it comes back the number of items indexed is 0 and its size is 25 k.
If I choose "Update index entirely", the window stays visible and I can see
the number of items indexed increasing till it's done. The number of files
indexed seems correct.
I can't find any documentation on the difference between "Update index
entirely" and "Rebuild index", and no explanation for the fact that it
doesn't work in the same way as version 4.
Thanks for any help.

Here is the explanation: it's a bug in FoxTrot Personal. "Rebuild" should erase and rebuild the index, but it fails to start indexing; you currently need to do "Update index entirely" after "rebuild" to start indexing. "Update index entirely" does not re-index unmodified files, but it is named "entirely" to differentiate this from "Update folder in index" which can be used to update a single folder tree inside the whole index.
Thanks for the report, we will fix this!
