Not exactly; "Update folder in index" (FoxTrot Personal) and "Update folder in running indices" (FoxTrot Pro) updates the files in the specified folder (in any depth), if this folder has already been indexed (or at least, in the case of a new folder, if it is contained in a folder already indexed).

"Update index entirely" (Personal) and "Update running indices entirely" (Pro) updates every files added, modified, or removed, which are located in an already indexed location. Unmodified files won't be reindexed, so this should be be faster than a complete rebuild, which should generally only be done to fix unexpected problems.

FoxTrot is a must for me. It indexes the drive more efficiently
than any program out there. The launcher and preview functions are
top of the line. Truly a gift, this thing is."
