Could you quit FoxTrot, then launch it from Terminal.app? To do so, launch Terminal.app, then paste the following line (including the quotes), and press return:

'/Applications/FoxTrot Professional Search.app/Contents/MacOS/FoxTrot Professional Search'

Then open the blackilist window and check if this causes an error message to be logged to the Terminal window.
