Thank you Jean Michel,
It's too bad that Powermail is no longer getting updated. I am
transitioning to PostBox as we type, a process that is both tedious as well
as frustrating. The good news is that the number of emails getting mangled
in the conversion process is less than 0.0005% but so much time will be
lost re-writing the many rules for sorting, etc. Postbox doesn't have the
ability to use a honeypot to train SpamSieve. The UI is also not as
intuitive. Oh well!
As for IMAP, "lightweight" is an interesting way to describe the weakest
part of the program. The good news is that deleting the contents of the
IMAP cache fixes IMAP issues consistently. The resultant rebuild times
taught me the benefit of having small IMAP accounts.
The many years with PowerMail have been fabulous, it's speed, flexibility,
and excellent integration with SpamSieve is without peers. It interesting
how FoxTrot search grew out of PowerMail. I may yet buy that product for my
desktop.
Anyhow, if you or your team ever decides to update PowerMail, please
contact me so I can come back.
Cheers, Constantin
