Hello,
It is possible to have a searchable VoodooPad documents with Foxtrot ?
The VoodooPad documents are searchable with Spotlight. I found on the net,
on their website, this explanation :
The .vpdoc files are not indexed by Spotlight. Rather, VoodooPad can
optionally write .vpspotlight files into the folder
~/Library/Caches/Metadata/VoodooPad, and Spotlight indexes *those* files.
On the other hand, someone who comment Foxtrot on Macupdate explain that
"...plug-ins from various apps really helps this (i.e. Mellel, VooDooPad,
etc.)", but it was in 2006.
Plug-ins ?

We have not tried indexing VoodooPad documents ourselves. Can you successfully search them using Spotlight? Have you included this metadata cache folder in your FoxTrot index (it should be included if you enable the "Library" predefined location)?

FoxTrot relies on Spotlight metadata importers (aka plugins) to index file formats that it does not handle internally. Some metadata importers are built in OS X for common file types, others are included with third party applications for their own file format, and sometimes you can install independent metadata importers developed by third party developers (they should be located in /Library/Spotlight, or {home}/Library/Spotlight. To see the list of importers available on your machine, launch FoxTrot while pressing the command and option keys, and check "manage third party importers". Is there one for VoodooPad?

Hello Jérôme,
1/ I have added the Library/Caches/Metadata/VoodooPad in the library
location documents in Foxtrot. Yes, you're right; it makes more sense ...
2/ After that, I have checked, as you suggested, the list of importers when
launching Foxtrot (and to answer to your question : yes, the VoodooPad
importer is present on my machine). And after that...it works ! That's
great.
