Please note the release of version 2.6 public beta 1 of the FoxTrot
Search family of products. Find out more, and download to evaluate for
free during 30 days (60 days for the server):
FoxTrot Professional Search & Search Server:
FoxTrot Personal Search
These releases will be free for version 2 registered owners, are stable
and have been thoroughly tested in-house.
We are asking you for constructive feedback on 2.6 public beta 1 in
order to move ahead. Please post your findings to the lists or e-mail
them directly to us.

In my testing 2.6 beta 1 works best on an intel mac running 10.6.2 and
is unable to finish indexing due to frequent index crashes on 10.4.11
On a MacPro 3,1 running 10.6.2 indexing is noticeably faster and on a
617Gb network volume indexed 485,871 files with an index size of 1Gb
A PPC mac running 10.5.8 indexing the same volume indexed 485,871
files but had a index size of only 218Mb
A second PPC mac running 10.4.11 was not able to complete indexing due
to frequent index crashes.
These results are the opposite of 2.5.3, which ran without problems on
10.4.11 but would have problems on the other two macs.
