Having just installed the update to 8.5 it won't automatically open my indexes.

I get this instead:

/index.php?t=getfile&id=79&private=0

It looks like it's trying to connect to a server, but I don't have the server version.
This also happened in the last beta of 8.5 but somehow it went away and worked as expected.

Also, it won't let me open an existing index using the Manage Indices window.

I quit 8.5. and launched 8.0.6 which works fine.

I then quit 8.0.6 and launch 8.5 again, and NOW it works as expected.

Don't know what is going on here…

This has been happening to me for the last few versions, including betas. I see the same thing. No indexes show in the sidebar nor do they launch. It's kind of annoying, but quitting and relaunching does usually resolve it eventually. It's frustrating when it delays a quick lookup.

Wait, this this STILL a problem?  This was posted back in April of 2025, and I thought it would be solved by now, so that's why I decided to also upgrade to version 8.  However, I'm seeing this same problem as well.  The only way I can avoid seeing this prompt to connect to a server, is if delete the old Foxtrot version complete, and install new copy of version 8; however, doing this would delete all my saved search history and bookmarks from version 7.
