FoxTrot uses Spotlight's metadata importers to extract indexable text from documents; some of these importers are bundled with OS X, and some other come with third party applications. Sometimes, some of these importers can forget to release memory (either systematically, or when processing malformed documents for example), and if you have hundreds of documents like this, the crawler process can end up using gigabytes of memory. In version 5.5, we now detect this, and automatically relaunch the crawler so the memory can be reclaimed. This appears in the log file because it reveals a bug in the importer, but indexation should continue normally and transparently.
