Dear Jean Michael,
It won't let me create an index at all.
All I get is the word LocalHost where I would normally see the name of the hard drive.
Are there some preferences I could delete to do a clean reinstall. I already tried deleting the library files with no success.

This being said, what I would recommend using a new index altogether adding those folders that you wish to index and restarting your new Mac. I know it sounds silly, but his is what I would do case of a loss of connection between the application and ask her.
